Donate Life Month!

Hello everyone, and welcome to an extra-special blog post! As you may know(from the title) April is Donate Life Month, and I have a lot to share with you all. Let's get started!

Donate Life Month Activities

As part of Donate Life Month, I was at:

The Annual Healthy Affair, Oakland County's largest health fair! Over 1,000 people were there, and I educated members of the community that had never heard of the organ waiting list!

The Easter egg hunt at Evanswood Church in Troy, where I staffed a donation table!

Here I am at my local Secretary of State Branch Office on Donate Life Day!

At these places, I met many inspirational people who's lives are touched by organ donation!

Here's a little history on Donate Life Month according to Donate Life America:

National Donate Life Month (NDLM) was instituted by Donate Life America and its partnering organizations in 2003. Celebrated in April each year, NDLM features an entire month of local, regional and national activities to help encourage Americans to register as organ, eye and tissue donors and to celebrate those that have saved lives through the gift of donation.

Volunteer Appreciation Week!

It's volunteer appreciation week(the week of 4/24), and I'm happy to say that I was recognized for my efforts by Gift of Life Michigan! Here's where I'm featured, and a Facebook and Twitter link:

Kidney Needed

My 8th grade english teacher is still waiting for a kidney, so please share this around! If you know anyone, contact the email in the picture!

That's all for this month! Thanks for reading, and I'll see you next month!
