Ms. Costello Speaks at G8L, Be a Hero at the Big House!

Hey everyone, and welcome to this month's blog post! We've done a lot in this past month, so let's get right into it.

Ms. Costello Speaks to Gift8Lives Club Members!

At our meeting, we brought in our eighth grade English teacher that started it all, Ms. Costello! It was definitely inspiring hearing her story and the struggles she endured while on the waiting list. She answered many questions about her experience, so our members learned a lot about organ donation and transplantation from a first-person perspective.

We also announced our officers at this meeting!

Be a Hero at the Big House @UofM!

Every year Wolverines for Life, the UofM's student-run organ/blood donation awareness club, hosts "Be a Hero at the Big House". This is an event where you can sign up to be an organ donor, donate blood, or get screened to become a bone marrow donor! There is entertainment, activities, giveaways, special guests, and snacks throughout the time the event runs(8 AM - 5 PM), so it's a great time.

We volunteered at the Gift of Life Michigan table, where we signed people up on the organ donor registry using our laptops, which was much faster than doing it by hand. It was awesome to be able to directly contribute to saved lives while enjoying the festivities in the Jack Roth Stadium Club, which has a great view of the stadium! I'm looking forward to next year.
