The Beginning of Summer 2019!
Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well! Summer has began, and we have a lot planned for Gift8Lives to flourish throughout said summer and in the school year. I've actually been pretty busy these past two weeks with a summer program but I've found time to keep up work with Gift8Lives. Anyway, let's get right into it!
Gift8Lives's Last 2019 Club Meeting
We held our last meeting at Troy High on May 29th, 2019! Here, we detailed our plans for the summer and our plans to make Gift8Lives even bigger and better in the 2019-2020 school year. In addition, we announced next years' officers, which are listed below:
President: Amogh Gowda, 12th Grade
Vice President: Srishti Gowda, 11th grade
Secretary: Sameep Gawaskar, 12th grade
Treasurer: Anish Vuyyuru, 12th grade
PR: Aditi Jain (12th grade) and Prajna Polamarasetti (11th grade)
Let's Talk Webinar
On June 25th, my sister and I attended a Gift of Life Michigan-hosted Webinar, which reviewed the plans for the "Let's Talk" campaign, as well as the dialogue discussion circles being hosted throughout the month! It was a fascinating look into the logistics of carrying out such a large-scale operation.
Upcoming Summer School Presentations
On July 9th and 31st, Gift8Lives will be presenting at two summer school health classes of 60 each at Troy High! I'm very excited to speak to such a large audience and provide information about organ donation awareness and what it entails to them.
